What is my Cambelt?
The cambelt (or timing belt) is one of the most critical components of your engine. It is located in the engine to make sure the opening and closing of the valves happens at just the right time for a continuous operation. The timing belt has teeth that turn the camshaft in time with the crankshaft.
Some cars and vans use timing chain or gears, which are more durable.
Why should I change my cambelt?
Over the course of time, the heat generated by your engine, alongside adverse weather conditions and general wear and tear will cause your cambelt to gradually crack and stretch.
When cambelts fail, they tend to cause significant damage to your engine that often results in large bills for the repair or replacement of engine components. Therefore, if you are worried about your cambelt, please contact Reed Autos for assistance.
When should I change my cambelt?
Your vehicle will come with a manufacturer's specification that shows when you should have the cambelt changed. This is based on the age and mileage of the vehicle. By replacing your cambelt at these regular intervals, you can remain confident that your vehicle is functioning to the best of its ability at all times.
